Overview

Truemeds, a leading online pharmacy in India, focuses on providing affordable healthcare and medication through generic medicines for their customers. They wanted to establish themselves as a trusted source for online medicine purchases. Truemeds also wanted to drive organic growth and revenue for their website.

Challenges

Truemeds faced multiple SEO and technical hurdles that limited their online growth. The website had poor search visibility, with fewer than 300 keywords ranking in the top three positions, leading to low organic traffic and revenue.

SEO issues with JavaScript and Angular.js prevented proper crawling and indexing by search engines. Additionally, weak site hygiene, missing meta tags, thin product descriptions, disorganised URLs, and inconsistent categorisation, further hampered both user experience and search performance.

Strategies Implemented

  • Resolved Technical and On-Page SEO Issues at Scale: We implemented JavaScript SEO with Angular.js and Node.js to fix crawling, rendering, and indexing issues. We also improved site navigation and added dynamic interlinking across the entire site.
  • Focused on Strengthening Topical Authority: We built a scalable silo structure with 130+ optimised categories and subcategories covering key health areas. Strengthened internal linking and fixed content clusters to improve topical authority, crawlability, and search visibility.
  • Optimised Web Pages through Programmatic SEO: We deployed programmatic SEO to automate the optimisation of meta tags and on-page content for 80,000 Product Detail Pages. This approach enabled large-scale implementation with consistency and speed, enhancing visibility for Truemeds’ vast product inventory.
  • Leveraged the Full Potential of the Google Search Landscape: We worked on expanding SERP visibility by targeting multiple search formats. We added FAQs for People Also Ask sections and structured content in lists and tables for Featured Snippets, maximising the brand’s Share of Page and search presence.
