Overview

A leading automobile manufacturer in India operates across a wide passenger vehicle portfolio, including hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, electric, and hybrid segments. The brand has a strong nationwide presence, supported by an extensive dealer and service network that enables reach across multiple regions and city markets.

Objective

Customer car research has increasingly shifted to AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity. Buyers now use these platforms to explore car models and shortlist brands before visiting comparison portals, marketplaces, or dealer websites.

Our objective was to help our client:

  • Become a primary brand referenced by AI platforms for high-intent car discovery queries
  • Capture early stage buyer demand before users reached comparison portals and marketplaces

GEO + LLM Optimisation Strategy

To achieve the objectives, we moved beyond traditional SEO for our client and deployed a custom Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and LLM first discovery architecture.

1. Vehicle Knowledge Architecture

We rebuilt our client’s content structure so AI platforms could clearly understand every vehicle model, variant, fuel type, safety feature, and price range. Content was also organised around real buyer use cases such as family needs, city driving, highway comfort, and fuel efficiency, helping AI platforms match vehicle models to relevant car discovery queries.

2. Location Specific Automotive Discovery

We mapped our client’s vehicle portfolio across India so AI platforms could surface relevant models for location specific searches such as:

  • “Best small family car for Bangalore”
  • “Sedans price in Delhi NCR”
  • “Best compact sedan for Delhi”

Each city was supported with:

  • Localised pricing and inventory signals
  • Driving conditions and climate context
  • Dealer intent and test-drive pathways

This ensured our client appeared in location aware AI recommendations, not just generic national level results.

3. AI Optimised Buying Funnel

We structured our client’s content so LLMs could guide users through the full car purchase journey:

  • Research: Top rated electric SUVs for families
  • Comparison: Compare cargo space across compact SUVs
  • Action: Best compact SUVs for test drive in India

Each stage was connected to AI readable landing pages and clear conversion paths on the website. This allowed AI platforms to move users from discovery and comparison stages to enquiry and test-drive actions within our client’s digital ecosystem.

4. LLM Compatible Content Engineering

We focused on making our client’s content more fact based, accurate, and easy for AI platforms to understand and summarise. This increased the likelihood of our client being quoted and recommended across platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews.

  • AI Optimised Content Structuring: Content was organised into clear, modular formats, making it easier for AI platforms to extract, interpret, and reuse information across different car discovery queries.
  • Building Authority and Trust: We strengthened our client’s credibility by clearly presenting product expertise, vehicle information, and brand authority. This helped position our client as a trusted source for automotive information within AI generated answers.
