My Favourite Content Marketing Tools to Identify Real Influencers

By the way, have you heard about the content marketing tools that are used to find real influencers? I am using the word “real” as number of fans and followers can very well be faked and it happens in many cases. So, how would you know that the person you’re going to approach as part of your influencer outreach program is a real influencer? The answer is simple; look for the “buzz” created and the “real impact” along with other signals such as likes, fans and followers. Contrary to classic SEO practices, SEO companies are now gaining awareness about the concepts of “buzz” and real impact.
Earn influencer leverage
The best day will come when influencers begin sharing your social media posts or start tweeting about your brand. This way you’re likely to earn significant influencer leverage to your advantage. Therefore, one of the smartest tactics is to follow the influencers who are relevant to your industry and not everybody on the block. If you follow the heavyweights in your domain, you’re likely to be noticed and followed by their followers. And to find right influencers you should use smart tools.
Some of the influencer marketing tools I use
It’s very difficult to measure buzz or impact manually, so we use some standard tools for that. My favourite tools to find top influencers are:
- Buzzsumo
- Impactana
- Traackr
To know who the right influencers are and to develop a network, you need to use influencer marketing tools. The above mentioned tools can reduce your time and efforts and help you in research, outreach and conversion. Now, I am going to give you my own feedback about some of these tools.
Buzzsumo
Apart from finding the right influencers to promote your content, Buzzsumo also helps you to analyze what content performs best for a specific topic or competitor. For example, when you enter a topic in its search field it gives you the top content for that topic on the web. It’s the most shared and trending content about that topic. You also get content analysis section here. Overall it’s a good tool for content marketing.
Impactana
I generally use Buzzsumo, but recently I got an invite through email from Christoph C. Cemper of Link Research Tools GmbH to try the alpha version of an influencer marketing tool developed by them. I personally tried it and found that this tool helps in discovering compelling content, finding key influencers, and studying influential videos. It made my job easier to find relevant influencers, as we run influencer outreach programs as part of our content marketing campaigns.
The tool helps me measure the two most important components of content marketing ROI — Buzz and Impact. Buzz tells you how effective your distribution is, while impact helps you track the resonance of your content. Impactana is a very effective tool, but it’s still not available for public access. The only way to get its access is to visit Impactana.com and fill up an access request form.
Traackr
Another tool that I like is Traackr, which you can download from traackr.com. It helps you get a 3600view on your influencers, so that you can get to know them and make a feasible outreach strategy. It helps me create projects around specific tasks and objectives such as product launches etc. It helps to select the right influencers of each of your campaign. Traackr is good for analytics as well.
