Google will come up with an update this may which would alter the prospects of many websites on the basis of their mobile-friendliness. It has announced that come may, its mobile-friendly ranking signals would be strengthened. It is bound to have a direct impact on many websites; especially in India where vast majority of internet users access it using their hand held devices.
Making the announcement yesterday, Google asserted that their goal is to “help our users find even more pages that are relevant and mobile-friendly”. Presently, it is not uncommon to see many websites that are not quite mobile-friendly and still listed on the front page. The move by Google will certainly prompt many websites to come up with a mobile-friendlier version of their websites; failing which, they might end-up losing their search engine rankings.

This new set of algorithms to be launched in May will have no impact on the websites already having mobile-friendlier version.
