Increase Your In-Store Sales Using New Google AdWords Extensions

Google doesn’t just help companies attract visitors to their websites, the search engine giant is now taking steps to help them to increase their in-store visitors as well. Google does this, using location extensions on search ads (Google AdWords Ads).
Google is doing it through “affiliate location extensions”. Now manufacturers can use this new location extension to divert in-store traffic to their retailers and authorized stores.
For example, if you make shirts and trousers, you can use affiliate location extensions to send a visitor (looking for similar products online) to their nearest retail outlet that sells the clothes made by you.
The following screenshot shows you the search results on Google’s first page with the keyword – “Peter England Shirts in Delhi”.
The store locations shown on the map help the visitor find a Peter England store near to his place.
How to setup affiliate location extensions?
If you want to setup affiliate location extensions, here are the steps to follow:
- Go to the Ad extensions tab
- Choose the new “Affiliate location extensions” option
- Enter the information related to the retail stores, where the customer can buy your products
Google will do the rest for you.
You don’t necessarily need a Google My Business account to setup these extensions.
