One of the most prolific and raging questions being asked in the web world today is this -are the old techniques of SEO services like manual link building and on-page optimization a thing of the past and has content marketing taken their place? And also, where does Search Engine Optimization services stand in the face of content marketing?
Before we try and explore the answer to these questions it is worthwhile to explain what content marketing actually is. Content Marketing essentially relates to inbound marketing techniques where high value and very good quality content is distributed in order to attract visitors and create an online brand / site presence. Along with this it incorporates the idea of driving website traffic through expansive sharing of content pieces on popular social media platforms.
Quite a few top SEO firms in India have begun to adopt and embrace content marketing as the new and progressive strategy for online marketing but that is not to say that SEO services have been given up on. SEO has been around for a long time and like any technology that becomes obsolete over time and requires revamping, the industry has been looking out for ways to infuse new life and dynamism into optimization techniques.
Bearing that in mind it would be relevant to say that while content marketing is not driving out SEO, there is definitely an intersection of the two that is taking place to create an optimization environment that is more robust and result-oriented. That is why, it is worth mentioning that Content Marketing is the new SEO.
Likewise, all SEO firms worth their salt will affirm that this integration is taking place in the form of keyword optimized blog posts that are:
- Well written,
- Meaty, and
- Provide relevant information that is attractive enough for sharing.
It’s no secret that search engines these days place high value on good quality content that is informative for readers.
Another emerging trend in SEO when it comes to the SEO services and content marketing marriage is the benefit that SEO techniques derive by content marketing on social media platforms. Social media promotion is an inherent aspect of content marketing and helps content get indexed faster and increases rankings for terms in social shares.
The point here is the fact that content marketing is definitely catching on big, simply because it is more recognizable even by search engines that are trying their best to streamline the process of how and what content is presented to the readers.
But, in saying so, one wouldn’t go as far as to say that SEO is not relevant anymore. In fact, to a large extent they are both two sides of the same coin and work hand-in-hand to boost rankings.
Yes, SEO is going through a transition with things like the introduction of the Penguin 2.0 update for removing link authority from spam sites and now Panda penalizing over-optimized sites, but these changes are for the good because ultimately what they do is diminish bad quality practices and content from the web space.
In the end, it all leads to a more skilled and highly productive environment that everyone can benefit from.
