Internationalization, languages, geo etc. are among the complex topics which are often discussed in the SEO community. It gets even more interesting when it gets into all the rules around spam.
Recently, John Mueller, Web-Master Trend Analyst at Google, posted in a Google Web-master Help thread that you SEO practitioners can post reviews in the original language, even if the particular web-page is in a different language.

For example, if your product reviews are in French, it is okay to post these in French on the English version of that product-page.
Here’s the quote by John:
“Just to address the open question regarding international sites: it’s fine to use these reviews on the different language versions of your pages, if they’re equivalent pages across languages. I’d recommend making sure that you have the connection between these pages set up properly, so that we show the appropriate version in search. Also, if you’re using computer translations for the reviews (I don’t know if this is the case here), please make sure that the translations aren’t indexable (automated translations are considered automatically generated content, which would be spam). Showing the original review + providing a JS widget to translate them is fine.”
