Google Maps Latest Update iOS: “Real Time Look” Feature
January 28, 2017
Google Maps has come up with the real-time look for iOS to show how busy a location/place is at the moment.
Google Maps is back with its real-time look. But, this time it is especially for iOS app.
Google has always been and will be there to navigate seasonal stress. This has again been proved. Google has gone a step ahead by updating iOS app with the real-time look. They added the “Popular Times” feature on Google Search and Maps in last November.
What Update does Google Introduce in iOS?
The recent update will enable iPhone 11 users us to check how busy a place is right now. It was earlier available in web search, but this time it is good news for Apple phone users.
This will not only show how busy a place is, but Google Maps will also show the average time people are spending at that particular place in per-visit basis.
What is “Popular Times” Update?
Last November, Google has come up with a new additional feature as “Crowd Control” – Popular Search update on Google Maps. There, you can have a real-time look at the locations that you are planning to visit. But Android legacy is not in the list of its benefits.
One can enjoy this facility on Google Maps not only to satisfy your taste buds in your local restaurants, but also in Grocery store, Pharmacy shop, Supermarket, Coffee shop, Automobile servicing centre, and many others.
How Google Get Information of a Location?
People who remain online from their phones, are the best source for Google. Foot traffic at a particular location is tracked through anonymous location data from mobile phones.
Location Coverage under “Real-time Look” Feature
Locations where people remain online from their mobile phones, Google can only cover those locations. So, the real-time look feature does not have any standard for all business locations.
The places to visit and travel that have heavy traffic especially in metropolitan areas are covered under this feature.
What is All Covered under “Real-time Look” Feature?
The new real-time look feature in Google Maps cover the following information.
• Location with proper and detailed address
• Contact number
• Website URL
• Suggest an edit
• Status of the place: Busy or Not too busy
• Graph as per timing
• Avg. time spend
It has been noticed that iOS users generally opt for quick search for locations that are saved in the clipboard.
If you are an iPhone user, you simply need to visit App Store and download the latest update.
